I personally handle it by reconciling a lot more often (every couple days, usually whenever I do finances) not to a specific statement. I think I can get around it by manually deleting the adjustment, but this raises the question for me - what exactly is the purpose of reconciliation? How does it differ from 'cleared' transactions? What is the intended workflow in YNAB for this?Īs far as I see it, really the only thing that has changed between YNAB4 and nYNAB is that nYNAB reconciles to today, not to a specific date, which makes reconciling to a statement more difficult. The problem is that nYNAB only seems to allow me to reconcile my balance TODAY, and creates an adjustment for whatever I haven't reconciled. in YNAB it was also possible to manually change the date of reconciliation. This is super easy to handle in Banktivity, as it automatically fills in the new reconciliation date as one month after the previous one. Statements come out several days after the billing cycle closes, and sometimes I don't get to it for another few days - in which time, more transactions have taken place that cannot/should not be reconciled. My usual workflow is to mark transactions clear (or have them marked clear) when they post to my account, and reconcile monthly with the statements. I've been using Quicken/iBank/Banktivity for about 11 years, YNAB for just over 1, and now nYNAB for ~ a month.
